Rearranging the Synod Table Chairs
“The real problem at this moment of our history,” he writes, “is that God is disappearing from the human horizon, and, with the dimming of the light which comes from God, humanity is losing its bearings, with increasingly evident destructive effects.”

Why a new book may be key to understanding the faith of Bob Dylan
As for what Dylan has said about his own faith, he opened up to The Wall Street Journal in 2022.
“I’m a religious person,” he said. “I read the scriptures a lot, meditate and pray, light candles in church. I believe in damnation and salvation, as well as predestination. The Five Books of Moses, Pauline Epistles, Invocation of the Saints, all of it.”

Natural law. An essay in ethics by Simcox, E. J. (Edith Jemima)
IF truth be at all within the reach of human capacity, 'tis certain it must lie very deep and abstruse ; and to hope we shall arrive at it without pains, while the greatest geniuses have failed with the utmost pains, must certainly be esteemed sufficiently vain and presumptuous. I pretend to no such advantage in the philosophy I am going to unfold, and would esteem it a strong presumption against it were it so very easy and obvious.

Man charged with sexually assaulting, killing 5-year-old
Neighbors told The Topeka Capital-Journal that Zoey had lived in a decrepit house that often had no lights or running water with her mother, a teenage sister, and an adult male who was allegedly a convicted child molester. It is not clear whether the alleged child molester previously living with Zoey and her family was Cherry or another man.

Aquinas commentary on Aristotle's Physics--nature
Hence, it is clear that nature is nothing but a certain kind of art, i.e., the divine art, impressed upon things, by which these things are moved to a determinate end. It is as if the shipbuilder were able to give to timbers that by which they would move themselves to take the form of a ship. |
