Where Does The Real Problem Reside? The 0.01% Vs. The 1%

While I always supported the overall message and energy that encompassed the Occupy Wall Street movement, I never backed the slogan of the 1% vs. the 99%. From my own personal experience, it is entirely clear that the actual problem is a far smaller group within the 1%, the 0.1% or the 0.01% (although I recognize “We Are the 99.9%” isn’t catchy).

Nonsense. Not one word in the Affordable Care Act guarantees health plans will cover birth control products. There is no right. President Obama and his Secretary of Health and Human Services added that requirement by regulation. Women have a constitutionally protected right to use birth control, but nothing guarantees that they can get it from an employer.

The Coming Paradigm Shift on Climate

In its most recent AR5 of 2013, the IPCC has dropped all previous pieces of evidence and instead concentrates on trying to prove that the reported surface warming between 1978 and 2000 agrees with a warming predicted by climate models.  This so-called proof turns out to be a weak reed indeed.  The reported warming applies only to surface (land-based) weather stations and is not seen in any other data set; the weather satellite data that measure atmospheric temperature show no significant trend -- neither do proxy data (from analysis of tree rings, ocean/lake sediments, stalagmites, etc)

Buried in Section 1501 on page 148 of the so-called Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is an exemption from the individual mandate for a “health care sharing ministry,” a group whose members “share a common set of ethical or religious beliefs and share medical expenses among members in accordance with those beliefs.” For any member of such group, the law says, “No penalty shall be imposed.”

Fed’s Mortgage Holdings May Dampen Future Bond Sell-Offs, Fed Says

If yields rise, chances for the rapid increases in rates are fewer because the Fed isn’t inclined to hedge its $1.6 trillion in mortgage bonds against rising rates, the New York Fed economists said. Leaving the Fed portfolio with no hedges, or “infrequently” hedged, reduces the type of trading that is often blamed for exacerbating bond selling, they said.
Mortgage bond hedges, which in times of falling rates include purchases of Treasury securities, are typically unwound when rates rise, causing yields to increase further. The cycle can repeat itself, as it did in 1994 and 2003 when 10-year Treasury yields rose about 2.5 percentage points and 1.5 percentage points, respectively, the economists said.
When mortgage rates fall, some investors buy Treasurys because more homeowners will refinance and prepay their loans, depriving mortgage bond investors of securities with higher income. Rising mortgage rates cut refinancing, extending the time that investors will receive below-market returns.
The Fed’s decision not to hedge its mortgage bonds has a greater impact as its influence over the $5.4 trillion “agency” MBS market has grown, the economists said.

In 2009, Treasury earmarked $50 billion to help failing homeowners. By October 2012, the department had spent $5.5 billion, with another $5 billion committed. A Costly Failed Experiment

Democrats also fixated on another goal: protection for people with pre-existing conditions. One of the first things the new law did was create federal risk pools so that people who had been denied coverage for health reasons could purchase insurance for the same premium a healthy person would pay. Over the next three years, about 107,000 people took advantage of that opportunity.
Think about that. One of the main reasons given for interfering with the health care of 300 million people was to solve a problem that affected a tiny sliver of the population

Business groups blindsided by Obama's proposed overtime regs

Florida TV station documents ineligible voters as DoJ sues to prevent state from purging rolls

WBBH TV in Ft. Myers, Florida has performed a public service with its investigative reporting documenting non-US citizens voting regularly in local elections.  The segment can be seen below, but Judicial Watch summarizes it:

Here Comes The Wage And Price Controls

Yet today President Obama is set to lauch another far more obvious form.
The central planner-in-chief is going to sign an Executive Order to require employers to expand overtime pay in the Land of the Free. This, on top of his recent proposal to increase the minimum wage 39% to $10.10 per hour (not that there’s any inflation).
Obviously this ‘decree by executive order’ strategy shows the political system for what it is: there is no republic, there are no checks and balances, there is no adherence to the Constitution.
They do whatever they want, however they want, with total immunity.
The troubling part about this executive order (aside from being yet another soon-to-fail wage control) is that it essentially abrogates millions of work contracts across the country.

"Behind The Kiev Snipers It Was Somebody From The New Coalition" - A Stunning New Leak Released

it is revealed on tape that all those photos of horrifying deaths of Ukrainians by snipers during the last days of the Median stand off, were in fact caused not by Snipers controlled by Yanukovich, but that the snipers shot at both protesters and police in Kiev were allegedly hired by Maidan leaders!

Beginning in 2010, agency officials deliberately targeted for extra scrutiny the non-profit applications of Tea Party groups. Any new group that included certain terms in its name—including “Tea Party” and “patriot”—as well as any that mentioned their purpose as related to issues of taxes, debt, or educating the public about the Constitution, were automatically flagged. Dozens of conservative groups thus had their applications for 501(c) status effectively put on hold for up to two years. Activists complained that they were asked to fill out intrusive questionnaires that sought information about the groups’ activities—information that the IRS was, in fact, prohibited from asking about. One pro-life group was asked to “explain in detail” the activities conducted at its prayer meetings. At the time, none of the affected groups knew what was happening behind the scenes at the IRS, but the pattern of delayed applications was obvious.
