The Genius of Christopher Nolan

The word and title "inception" is itself an act of "inception."  The audience accepts the definition of this word given in the movie (putting an idea into another person's mind without that person noticing it), even though this is a made-up meaning, and the actual meaning of the word (a beginning) becomes hidden.  The real meaning of the word is what the film is actually about.
