The dashcam video makes it clear that Castile handed his license and insurance to the officer *before* telling the officer that he had a gun, so French is incorrect when he says that Castile was shot for obeying orders (as is the girlfriend who said the same thing). The officer had good reason to wonder what Castile was reaching for, since he had already handed him the license and insurance. (And as a closeup from the girlfriend’s video shows, his gun was in his lap.)
