Jernigan had a previous domestic assault charge in Dinwiddie but the case was expunged from his record, along with court records, a Dinwiddie court clerk said.
Gary Nguyen said no one was aware that Alexis was in the house until after police entered with a SWAT team. “I was hoping she was with her other father,” Nguyen said.
