The President’s Brother

In 1781, at the age of twenty-five,
he married his first cousin, Anne
“Nancy” Lewis, and together they
raised six children to adulthood at
Snowden. Following Nancy’s
death (c. 1800), Randolph married
a Buckingham native, Mitchie B.
Pryor, whose presence at Snowden
proved disruptive within Ran-
dolph’s first family.
