Father of Syracuse assault suspect wants to apologize to 70-year-old victim | syracuse.com

The father of the Solvay teen accused of assaulting a 70-year-old man did not want to talk to reporters on Monday.

But he did have one message for Jim Gifford, the man who remains critically injured in Upstate University Hospital.

"I will talk to [Gifford] and his family. And I will apologize for my son's actions," said Charles Williams, father of 18-year-old Romeo Williams, before getting in his car and driving away from his Chemung Street house around noon Monday.
